International Sound Awards 2019 Sessions – Podcasts
On September 19th, the Award Show of the International Sound Awards 2019 took place in Hamburg. Next to the Award Show, selected nominees presented their projects to a wider audience in more detail at the ISA2019 Sessions on September 18th. ISA 2019 Sessions – Soundscape Design for Helsinki New Children’s Hospital
In today’s podcast Antti Ikonen – Composer, Sound Designer and University Lecturer, will speak about the Soundscape Design for Helsinki New Children’s Hospital.
The soundscape of the Hospital was designed and implemented by Sound in New Media, Master of Arts, students from Aalto University’s Media Lab under Antti Ikonen’s instruction and supervision. The soundscape is generative and the 60-channel IP-audio sound system covers all floors and elevators of the building.

ISA 2019 Sessions – ICT – The Sounds of Costa Rica
In today’s Session Bernal Chaves, Audio Branding Director, Publimark Mullen Lowe, talks about the new brand identity for the Costa Rican Tourism Board ICT.
Publimark Mullen Lowe and the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) have created a new brand identity based on the all-encompassing experience of visiting Costa Rica. The brand identity is represented by the “C” in the ICT’s new visual logo. To add a musical element consistent with the graphic’s identity, they created a mnemonic using the circle of fifths, along with numerous soundscapes found in Costa Rica’s nature and culture.

ISA 2019 Sessions – European Society of Cardiology – Audio Identity and Event Sound
In today’s ISA Sessions Podcast episode Jonny Round, Managing Director of The Sound Agency talks about the European Society of Cardiology’s new audio identity.
The European Society of Cardiology’s new audio identity is inspired by the sound of a human heartbeat and includes five event sounds. After its 2018 congress – which attracted over 30,000 attendees – ESC praised the sound’s ability to “bring the congress together” and its “fantastic” ability to resonate with the cardiologists.

ISA 2019 Sessions – Fuze Sonic Identity System
In today’s Session Drew Allison, Brand Manager from Fuze, talks about the Fuze Sonic Identity System.
The sound of Fuze – a video conferencing solution – needed to be simple, transparent, and fluid, aiding work flow as seamlessly as the product user interface, across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. The sonic system also had to differentiate the product in a crowded communications market where ringtones definitively represent the brand.
In harmony with the visual brand, Drew Allison and his team set out to develop an innovative multi-sensory brand experience. The result was a universal and enduring world-class sonic identity.
