Abstract

Do you know how music feels?
Radio was born in the 1890’s and movies with synchronized sound in the 1920’s. Since then for almost 100 years nearly all entertainment has been created for ears and eyes only. Inspired by autistic children, Flexound adds a whole new dimension – the sensation of touch – to the classical audio experience.

Project description

Outset
Requested by his wife, the inventor Jukka Linjama, PhD in acoustics and a violinist, created the first instrument that transformed plain music into a magical combination of high-quality sound and distributed vibration. Meant first to be a therapy tool for disabled children only, the team quickly realized that this game-changing innovation feels so good and makes one so happy that it should be available to everyone.

Concept
For a century, we’ve only been listening to sounds. The tools and the devices have evolved, and the sound has become incredible, but it is still just AUDIO. But we know there is so much more to sound. It’s now time to start a new era and add the sense of touch to the audiovisual content. We human beings are feeling creatures. Utilization of the sense of touch opens great amount of new possibilities for the global entertainment and wellness industries.

FEELING IS BELIEVING. Flexound Augmented Audio™ adds the sensation of touch to any audio-visual listening experience — be it music, games, television, streaming or movies. It combines high quality audio with physical sound wave vibration, creating a unique immersive experience.

We integrate our patented Flexound Augmented Audio™ Technology module into e.g. cinema, airplane or car seats, gaming chairs, cushions, furniture, public transport and more. Our licencee customers can turn their branded end-products into augmented audio havens that feel wonderfully relaxing and sound incredibly good.
