Marcel Kloppenburg

Concepts and Production Director, Sound Branding, MetaDesign AG, Berlin, Germany

Marcel Kloppenburg has been an instructor for acoustic brand communication at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin since 2007 and for sound branding at the Institute for Marketing and Communication (IMK) in Berlin. He joined the sound branding department at MetaDesign AG in 2006, where he is now the concept and production director, responsible for development and production for clients such as Siemens, Audi, eBay, entega, Premiere, Allianz and Volkswagen.

He has worked in the areas of music production, live technologies, film, and consulting and planning for building and room acoustics, and has been the drummer for various bands. Marcel Kloppenburg has two master’s degrees from the Technical University of Berlin in communications, musicology and technical acoustics as well as in media consulting. He gives seminars and lectures on sound branding for various institutions, including IMK in Berlin, the University of Management and Consulting (UMC) in Potsdam, Aural City, the German Booksellers’ Academy and the symposium “Functional Sound” at the UdK in Berlin.
