Submission Guideline

The very broad topic of the call for 2013 is ″Sound Opportunities.″ This topic can be interpreted either in the research and development context of ″prospects for new sound applications″, or in an economical context as ″good chances″ for business in Russia and Eastern Europe. All in all, it is about future trends in research, product development, brand communications and business with the sophisticated use of sound and silence.

We invite you to submit scientific papers addressing this topic in the fields of Audio Branding, New Media, Sound Design, Product Development and Multimodal Interaction. Accepted submissions will be presented either as a 20 minute talk or as a poster within a scientific forum.

Guideline for submissions

Submissions must include:

  • Manuscript of five to ten pages including keywords, short abstract, list of references.
  • Please use the available word template here
  • Short CV of author(s)
  • If applicable: video and sound samples

Participants: The call is open for all postgraduate papers at the interface of theory, practice and research.

Requirements: Outstanding studies that contribute to the research of an intentional, sophisticated and responsible use of sound and silence.

Submission deadline: August 30, 2013

Forms of presentation: 20 minute talk or poster at the Audio Branding Congress 2013

Tickets:

  • All speakers, which will be invited to give a talk, will get complimentary tickets.
  • Scholars, which will be invited to present a poster, will get reduced tickets.
  • Companies, which will be invited to present a poster, will have to purchase standard tickets.

Reviewing procedure
The Audio Branding Academy will make a pre-selection among all submissions according to their relevance to the congress. In a second step, the most promising submissions will be reviewed by the scientific advisory board of the Audio Branding Academy. Selection criteria are practical and scientific relevance, scientific rigour, novelty of the applied approach, and results.

Proceedings
Manuscripts of accepted presentations will be published in the proceedings of the congress (Audio Branding Academy Yearbook 2013/2014).
