Academy Day 2016

Academy Day 2016

After five years of hosting events overseas the Audio Branding Academy went back to its Hanseatic roots in Hamburg. On 21st of  September 2016 the Academy Day was held for the first time in cooperation with the Reeperbahn Festival. It is considered one of the worldwide most important meeting points in the music scene. It is not only Germany’s greatest club festival, but it also hosts the international music and digital economy conference NEXT.

At the onset of the cooperation with the Reeperbahn Festival, the sound workshops revealed a wide range of fields they cover. The workshop „The Sound of E-Mobility“ by Dr. Markus Bodden discusses the application of functional and brand sounds in electric cars. Daniel Hug’s session was all about the design of interactive sound applications in modern media and products. At the panel „Brand Sound Follows Functions“ experts discussed about how digitization and the recent technological development influences brand sound design. What strategies are necessary for the next step into the acoustic future?

On 22nd September 2016 at the panel Brand Sound Follows Function the workshops speakers Dr. Markus Bodden, Reinher Karl and Dr. Cornelius Ringe discussed the impact of digitalization and latest technological developments on brand sound design. The panel was moderated by Prof. Thomas Görne, Professor for Audio Design and Audio Systems at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
